I studied Professional and Technical Writing and Public Relations, worked as an account manager for the Pamplin College of Business marketing agency, PRISM, and wrote for Her Campus magazine.

Social Media Management and Strategy
I was the account manager for Virginia Tech Admissions’ social media on the behalf of PRISM—a faculty-led, student-run digital marketing firm funded with over $100,000 in grants and representing global, local, and campus clients.
I led the planning and executing of several social media campaigns across multiple platforms, including TikTok and Instagram. Some of my favorite projects were our SPOOKtober series on campus and our Valentine’s Day Hokie Love campaign.

While I love account management, writing has always been my passion. I love language and all of the genres and wonderful avenues we can explore with it — even the less exciting stuff. In fact, I used to write book reports for fun as kid. It’s weird, but true, and nothing has really changed.
I’ve worked for various agencies specializing in many kids of writing. At Area 23, I wrote creative copy for GEMTESA, a pharmaceutical brand. At PRISM, I wrote blogs and newsletters for several Virginia Tech-affiliated clients such as the Pamplin College of Business; at eSimplicity I wrote technical pieces for government IT contracts, and at Her Campus I was a lifestyle writer.

Writing is fun after all, so that why’s I wrote for Her Campus—an online magazine targeted at the female college student demographic. For almost two years, I published a series of articles about lifestyle tips, recipes, recommendations, and more.
