Espresso “Tini Bit Older” Party

The birthday star! <3

My best friend turned 23 years old this year, and I wanted to make her day extra special. She is obsessed with espresso martinis, specifically with tequila instead of vodka (interesting take, right?). Conveniently enough, Sabrina Carpenter had just released her song “Espresso.” I also kept and continue to see this “Tini Bit Older” party theme, so what better twist than to make it an espresso tini bit older shindig? It was meant to be - thank you Sabrina.

I was so thrilled about this theme and completely surprising my friend, Tk. I bought almost everything I used at Target or Hobby Lobby—which side note is the best place in the world if you’ve never been. So I hope there is a Hobby Lobby near you. Any who…here’s what I used to make this brunch EPIC.

SO cute, right?!

I knew I wanted to go for a rose gold and light brown color scheme. Dark brown just looked a little shitty. LOL.

For decor, I started at Target and luckily they had so much great rose gold/gold decor. That’s where I got the glitter table runner, ice bucket, balloons, birthday napkins, plastic martini glasses, cupcake ingredients, and sweet treats (Reece’s PB cups, espresso beans, and salted caramel cookies).

I also got this super cute Espresso Martini poster from Pinterest that I displayed so no one would forget why we’re here…

The cupcakes were another fun touch. I did chocolate batter, cream cheese icing, and topped them with espresso beans. MWAH! Also, I of course added some espresso BuzzBallz because we were celebrating!

Okay, so more on the drinks. I was surprised at how inexpensive these cocktails were. Plus, a lot of the ingredients were laying around my house and they definitely might be in yours too!

For the martinis, I bought Target’s cold brew, simple syrup (or you can make your own), Bailey’s, Vanilla Smirnoff, and Teremina tequila for the queen (this brand is awesome and inexpensive BTW).

I have seen so many different variations of the espresso martini, but here’s my typical recipe for at home:

  • 1 shot of vanilla vodka

  • 1 shot of Bailey’s or any vanilla cream liqueur

  • 2 oz of cold brew

  • 1 tsp of simple syrup (sugar + water)

Shake it on up in your shaker and top with espresso beans for a fun garnish!

Side note: adding bows and flowers elevate every event.

I got this brown velvet brown ribbon at Hobby Lobby and added it to the martini glasses, the cupcake stand, and even the water bottles I gave out (we all needed one.)

Me sipping obviously....

The final look!

I layed everything out and we all made our own espresso martinis however we chose.

And of course when it came time to leave and head out on the town, we needed to take our drinks to go! I handed out these coffee lids to put on top of our martini glasses for our car ride to the bars (don’t fret, no one was drinking and driving).
