New England Farmer’s Market-Themed PARTY

To celebrate the closing of summer season and the beginning of a new, I felt it was only right to celebrate with friends and family and host a beautiful evening at my house.

I love a good theme, so I decided to do a New England Farmer’s Market theme this year. You know — fresh flowers, fruit, crisp cocktails, white picket fences, the whole shebang.

Me + the cake :D

The Cake

The epicenter of my get together was my blueberry lemon cream cake.

I made a homemade lemon batter with fresh blueberries in it. Then, I iced the double-layered cake with cream cheese icing and added more blueberries, fresh rosemary leaves, and edible gold glitter flakes for a pop of sparkle to the outside. It was light and decadent - YUM!

Next on the menu…charcuterie cups.

The Mini Charcuterie Cups

Nothing says country farm vibes like a charcuterie board. I used these glitter plastic martini cups from Target and added an assortment of goodies, all from Trader Joe’s:

  • Raspberries

  • Cheddar cheese cubes

  • Gouda slices

  • Salami slices

  • Rosemary & Fig crackers

  • Plain wheat crackers

  • Garlic stuffed green olives

  • Cashews

And of course, a wonderful cocktail to stir sh*t up!!

The Long Island Iced Teas

So delicious and DANGEROUS by the way…

I made everyone long island iced teas. After all, they are the epitome of New York cocktails! I used clear plastic wine cups, bamboo straws, and these fun “Cheers” saying tags to tell each cup apart.

Long Island Iced Tea Recipe:

  • .5 oz tequila

  • .5 oz white rum

  • .5 oz vodka

  • .5 oz gin

  • 3 oz Coke Zero

  • 2 oz lemon juice

  • Lemon slice to garnish

And last but not least…

The Cocktail Station

I set up a cocktail station with fresh cranberry and pineapple juices, garnishes, and an ice bucket (from Target - only $5!) for anyone who didn’t want a tea. I just love how decorative cut fruit looks at a party.

This party was so fun and fresh. I decorated my kitchen with an assortment of bright, colorful flowers to brighten the room (not pictured here) and placed a water dispenser out for ~hydration purposes~.

MWAH! <3
