Sweet and Spicy Avocado Toast

I am pleased to announce I have carefully crafted the best avocado toast recipe to date. Seriously, if you are interested in a savory breakfast, definitely give this recipe a try!

Recipe

(Single serving)

2 slices of any bread of your choice

1/2 of a large organic avocado

1 egg

1/2 cup of alfalfa sprouts

2 tablespoons of pepper jelly (or any jam of your choosing)

1 tablespoon of fresh squeezed lemon juice

1 tablespoon of Everything But The Bagel seasoning

Any sriracha sauce (as much as you prefer, hehe)

A dash of pepper and sea salt

I begin by toasting two slices of bread. I prefer using fresh sourdough bread from the market, but any kind works! Once the toast is done, I add a thin layer of homemade pepper jelly, however if you don’t want to make it from scratch, you can purchase a jam of your choice at any store. I’ve also tried strawberry and raspberry jam on this before and they both make FABULOUS alternatives.

Next, I smash half an avocado with a squeeze of lemon juice, pepper and salt, and spread the concoction onto my bread slices. Then, and in this order to be exact, add Everything But The Bagel seasoning, a fried egg (or hard boiled, either works), a handful of alfalfa sprouts (I grew mine at home, but these can also be purchased at the store) and a drizzle of sriracha sauce on top.

Homegrown alfalfa sprouts! So easy, too. I ordered my seeds on Amazon and grew them in a mason jar over 5-7 days until they were ready to eat!

I always like to add fruit to the side of my plate too hehe!

Mwah!
