Honey Salmon Rice Bowl
Coming up on this week’s episode of cooking with Taylor is none other than the viral salmon rice bowl people on TikTok are RAVING about. I’m always behind with the latest and greatest trends, so I had to hop on this wave ASAP.
There are three components to this recipe: the spicy mayo, the rice, and the salmon itself.
Recipe
(Single serving)
Spicy Mayo
1/2 cup of mayo
2 tablespoons of sriracha
1/4tsp of sesame oil
1/2tsp of sugar
1tsp of lemon juice
To begin, start by mixing together your spicy mayo ingredients in a small, covering the bowl, and refrigerating it while cooking the rest of the meal.
Salmon
1lb of atlantic or alaskan salmon
1 1/2tsp of chili powder
1tsp of garlic powder
1tsp of oregano
1 tsp of sea salt
1/2tsp of black pepper
To be used for frying later:
1tbsp of olive oil
1tbsp of unsalted butter
1tbsp of raw honey
1tbsp of chopped parsley
To begin, remove the skin from the salmon and chop the salmon into cubes. Combine the salmon meat and dry ingredients in a bowl. After allowing the salmon to soak in the spices for 10 minutes or so, heat a pan with a tablespoon of olive oil on high. Once hot, add the salmon cubes and cook until they are well-done. If you are unsure when the salmon is ready, check by gently pressing a fork on top of the salmon cube. If the salmon flakes, it is done!
But, not so fast. Reduce the pan heat to medium and add butter, honey, and parsley to the pan. Allow all of the ingredients to simmer for 5 minutes before serving.
Rice
Well, this is pretty straight forward. For my dish, I used instant brown rice, but you can use any rice of your choosing! I’ve heard coconut and jasmine rice are also delicious in this recipe.
Once each component of this recipe is cooked to perfection, assemble your salmon, rice, and spicy mayo on a plate and enjoy!
