Taylor Sipping Tea

Last week, I celebrated my birthday in the most pinkalicious fantastic way - at tea.

Anyone that knows me know that I love a party with a theme. In fact, the whole point of throwing a party is to have a theme.

Every year, I throw some sort of drink-inspired party for my birthday…last year we did frozen drinks with rubber duckies, and the year before that we did a crazy cup and straw theme. It’s not that I enjoy the attention of my birthday, in fact I hate anyone singing to me - it’s the excitement I feel when people enjoy time together at a great shindig…thrown by mwah.

My birthdays through the years^ *scrolls*

This year, I wanted to up the class and take the girls on the town in style. So naturally, we went to a tea for a few cuppas! The dress code was Marie Antoinette and let me tell you, my friends showed OUT.

I ordered plenty of accessories for us, including chic sunglasses, elegant gloves, insanely big headbands, and fans to keep cool. I think we looked lovely if I do say so myself.

We started the day together bright and early, got ready, added our accessories, and drank Aperol Mimosas in doing so.

Aperol Mimosas:

  • 2 oz Aperol

  • 3 oz Prosecco

  • Splash of OJ or Pineapple Juice

  • Orange slice

  • Raspberries

  • Cute straws and decorative llamas

And then, we were ready for some tea and crumpets.

Our destination? Lady Camellia. This place was spectacular! Right along the water in Old Town Alexandria in a quaint square, we had ourselves a TIME.

We each got to pick our own tea, for which we got a tea kettle and sugar. I got a strawberry vanilla flavor and it was magnificent. Then, the servers brought us three towers of treats filled with an assortment of tea sandwiches (cucumber, egg, and brie), mini desserts such as tiramisu, cupcakes, macarons, mini pies and custards, croissants and scones (as seen below). Everything from the restaurant ambiance to the food and drinks was on point. They also sold bottles of prosecco, champagne, and rose to booze things up a bit!

Afterwards, we ventured into Washington, D.C. and hopped from bar to bar for the night. It was the most fun and I would 20/10 recommend a tea party for your next celebration <3
